IOP Reflection
I believe that for my first IOP, I did well. I covered all that I wished to, and aside from some terminology mess-ups, I spoke well. I feel that my IOP
could have been structured better, and I could have practiced more. Clearly, I was nervous, and could have done things better. But for a first
attempt, I am satisfied.
A: 8 I had good understanding, not great
B: 8 I had decent visuals, and tried to be interesting
C: 8 Proper register, minor slip ups.

IOP Reflection (post recording)
Upon listening to the recording of my presentation, I find many of the same strengths and weaknesses addressed in my first reflection were correct. I was able to cover all that I wished too and I did have a few mistakes in terminology and language. I occasionally slipped into casual register, though they were fleeting moments. These mistakes I believe are mainly due to my nervousness.
I believe that a better structure could have aided in my presentation, perhaps sticking to diachronic for one half and synchronic for the other. Towards the end of my time I began using pieces of information that were much less organized and more like information I kept on the tip of my tongue in case I began to finish my presentation before reaching the time limit.
All in all, for a first time, I am still very pleased with how this went. I maintained a proper register for the most part. Upon listening to the audio recording, I find that I also, thankfully, do not sound as nervous and tearful as I thought I would. I have few if any pauses of forgetfulness. I spoke clearly and was hopefully easily understood.
A: 9 My understanding was good, not great, but not average. I comprehended the subject well. I answered questions more successfully than I thought I would
B: 9 I used appropriate and decent images in order to keep audience interest
C: 8 My language was proper save for a few slip ups. I could have used a few more literary terms.
